The death toll from a hotel explosion in the Cuban capital, Havana, rises to 26

The death toll from a hotel explosion in the Cuban capital, Havana caused by a natural gas leak, has risen to 26.

And the American "ABC News" network quoted city officials as saying  "Among the dead victims were 4 children and a pregnant woman," noting that at least one person had survived earlier today (Saturday).

The natural gas leak was the obvious cause of the explosion, which occurred yesterday at the 96-room hotel in the old quarter of Havana, which dates back to the 19th century, which had no guests at the time, and was undergoing renovations before it opened again on Tuesday.
